Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme Telangana

This is a welfare scheme started in 2015 which focuses on the development of the child. As there is a high rate of malnutrition, the infant mortality rate in the country. A forward is taken by the government of Telangana in order to reduce the malnutrition and IMR by providing the nutritive food with the pregnant and lactating women. There are more than 35,700 Anganwadi centers which are under the service as

  1. 31,711 main Anganwadi Centres
  2. 3989 mini Anganwadi Centres

There are providing food to

  1. 5,90,414 pregnant ladies
  2. 18,20,901 lactating women and children

The integrated child development service (ICDS) is providing their services like the supply of

  1. Nutritive food
  2. Health checkups
  3. Pre-school education
  4. Providing immunization


This scheme provides one full meal for pregnant and lactating women at Anganwadi centers. They also provide

  1. Iron and folic acid tablets
  2. Boiled eggs
  3. 200ml milk
  4. A full plate of meals
  5. Dal with leafy vegetables(vegetables for 25 days)
  6. For 3-6 years children are provided with 30 eggs per month

This full meal will supply 40-45% of calories and 40-45% of protein and calcium for the mother

Objective Of Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme Telangana:

There are eleven members in the committee who takes care of the below for a pregnant women

  1. Make sure that the food provided is consumed by the pregnant lady rather than that of the other people in the family
  2. Ensure that the women are having 90+ IFA tablets
  3. Reduction of women with anemia by providing nutritive food

Responsibilities Of the Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme Telangana:

  1. The members of the committee will meet on the first day of every month and spread awareness about the full meal program
  2. Ensures no other person consumes the food rather than the eligible person
  3. Ensure correct demand of the food grain is available
  4. Ensure correct demand for milk from the milk vendor
  5. Ensure the quality of the food
  6. Check the attendance of the women
  7. Check whether the environment is hygienic or not

  1. Women should be a resident of Telangana
  2. Pregnant and lactating women should be below the poverty line

How to Apply for Aarogya Lakshmi Scheme Telangana Scheme

  • The angawadi workers will survey from house to house and prepare a list of the group who are eligible
  • After that, they will be provided mother-child protection cards during this survey
